Why am I the only one like this?

North Dakota Girls Are Struggling.

According to the 2023 North Dakota Youth Risk Behavior Survey: 1 in 3 ND girls state their mental health is not good, and 1 in 6 ND middle school girls has attempted suicide.

Girls are struggling in the big picture, yes, but also in situations as mundane and ordinary as lunchtime. A time to relax, replenish their body, refuel their mind for a day of learning.

There is no pause button. There is no exhale. There is no break. Girls are on a continuous cycle of comparison, perfectionism, and pressure leading to isolation, anxiety, depression, and self-harm.

This is what their struggle looks like.

BIO Girls is on a mission to improve the mental health of adolescent girls through empowerment of self and connection with others.

Using evidence-based techniques such as mentoring, physical activity, volunteerism, peer-to-peer connection and so much more, the renowned 12-session BIO Girls program is proven effective in decreasing anxiety and improving self-esteem in girls. Via hundreds of volunteers, BIO Girls is equipping communities to end the self-esteem crisis in adolescent girls.
