Meet Kjiesta Moch

BIO Girls Volunteer at West Fargo - Prairie Heights

For the past five years, Kjiesta has been wholeheartedly committed to empowering young girls, helping them build confidence and self-worth. Her journey with BIO Girls began at Triumph in WF, where she volunteered for a year before moving over to Prairie Heights. Over the past five years, she has made an incredible impact on countless participants.

For Kjiesta, volunteering for BIO Girls is more than just giving her time—it’s an opportunity to create lasting change in the lives of young girls.

"I believe in the mission of empowering girls to build confidence and self-worth through mentoring, life-skill lessons, and physical activity. I’ve seen firsthand how the pressures of today’s world can take a toll on self-esteem and mental health, especially for young women. By being part of BIO Girls, I have the opportunity to help create a safe space where girls can grow, connect, and learn to see their own value. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their transformation as they gain confidence, build resilience, and discover their strengths. It’s about giving back in a way that truly matters—helping the next generation of girls believe in themselves and realize they are capable of achieving great things. Watching them grow and succeed is one of the most fulfilling experiences I could ask for, and I’m grateful to be part of their journey.”

Favorite Mantra?

"I am in control because I use it often in my home for myself, and my family. It's a great reminder we actually control our emotions, and they do not need to control us.”

One moment in particular stands out in Kjiesta’s journey—a memory that will stay with her forever.

“One of my favorite memories over the years is in year 2 when a BIO Girl brought me her signed contract at the beginning of week 4 stating, "I didn't know if I wanted to sign this, but I know I am worth it now." Those words will forever be in my mind as we remind every season of girls that they are worth the work, the pause, the love they receive and focus on the intentional choice to be present at each session.”

While Kjiesta has found deep fulfillment in mentoring young girls, one of the greatest unexpected gifts has been the friendships she’s formed along the way

“One of my favorite parts of volunteering, something I never realized I’d cherish so deeply, is the bond that forms between mentors and co-directors. My incredible sidekick Liz and I have served alongside each other for years, and over the past four seasons, we’ve alternated roles as Site Director and Marketing Lead. This shared journey has not only strengthened our teamwork but has also blossomed into a beautiful friendship that I am so grateful for. Having someone like Liz to share this mission with has made the experience even more meaningful and rewarding.”

Beyond her role as a volunteer, Kjiesta has had the joy of watching her own daughter participate in two BIO Girls sessions. Seeing the program’s impact extend beyond the weekly lessons and into her daughter’s daily life—at school and at home—has reinforced just how life-changing BIO Girls truly is.

“It’s not just 90 minutes a week; it’s a movement that fosters confidence, self-worth, and resilience in everyone involved—mentors and participants alike.”

Kjiesta, we are deeply grateful—for every session you’ve led, every conversation you’ve shared, and every breakthrough you’ve witnessed in support of the BIO Girls mission. It is an honor to have you serve, uplift, and be part of a movement that continues to inspire and empower the next generation of young women.

thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
