A Million Dreams — the 3rd Annual BIO Girls Gala presented by Crown Jewels.

A celebration for the past 9 years of BIO Girls programming.
A celebration of the 10th year upcoming in 2022.
A celebration of the next 10 years to come.
For this celebration, we landed on the theme of The Greatest Showman. Why? Well, we have more than one explanation.

A circus is a place that embraces open minds.
BIO Girls teaches participants the importance of keeping an open mind. In fact, we spend a lot of time talking about mindset and what it means to be in control of your thoughts.
We trace it back to how your thoughts affect your feelings, which ultimately translate into your actions. Feelings aren’t something we are always in control of… but how we react in our thoughts to those feelings is.
How do we teach this?
One example comes from our “I Can, I Will” lesson. Mentors shared a scenario of having a self-doubt mindset and walked participants through how you can think positively instead!
Through this skillset, participants begin to build mental resiliency.
They are capable of creating a positive mindset that allows them to try new things and not fear failure. A mindset that allows them to do the things they love without caring about if it’s “cool”. A mindset that sets them up to successfully navigate tough conversations with their peers. A mindset that helps them dream with their eyes wide open — to not hold themselves back by a self-doubting mindset.
