Volunteer Highlight — Sarah Nicholls

Meet Sarah Nicholls!

Sarah Nicholls has been a Mentor in Sauk Centre and is currently a Site Director at our Alexandria site. She has been volunteering with BIO Girls since 2019! We are so inspired by Sarah’s continuous generosity.

Sarah – thank you! Our team, the girls you have made an impact on, and the Sauk Center and Alexandria community sincerely thank you.

  • What is your favorite lesson or mantra?

    • “Strong and Proud”

  • Why do you love volunteering for BIO Girls?

    • “I volunteer with BIO Girls because I wish my daughters would've had access to BIO Girls during their adolescent years. That wish drives me to give back to families and their daughters in our community. The service project night is one of my favorites because we are teaching them that one small act of kindness causes a ripple effect on everyone around them including their own hearts."

  • Do you have an impactful story to share from your volunteer experience?

    • “Two young girls, sisters arrived at BIO Girls 4 years ago both shy and reserved and unsure about the commitment to run. Seeing these girls return each year since and their confidence has grown so much. In their 5th year one is now a JR Mentor and the other is one of our best runners. The program has impacted them in every way including teaching them to be leaders.”
