Meet Michelle Hintz

BIO Girls Volunteer in Bismarck, ND - House of Prayer

Michelle has been serving her time as a BIO Girls volunteer for the past eight years! Michelle has sported two volunteer hats throughout the years, Mentor and now, Site Director, during the summer and spring seasons of House of prayer. Talk about double the impact!!

After eight years of service, she looks back with deep gratitude for choosing to get involved in this life-changing program.

“I volunteer to give my time to something bigger than myself. The lessons are good for the girls to learn but as adults who didn't have BIO Girls, we benefit from them, too!  It's such a joy to hear the girls realize how worthy they are, watch them push themselves and accomplish hard things and learn more about God and His love for us.”

Favorite Lesson?

"Perfectly Imperfect" from a few years ago; when we truly learn that through all of our struggles, trials, imperfections, mistakes God loves us anyway because we were made by Him, in His image, it's the greatest feeling in the world.  I hope these girls can learn that, accept that and carry it with them for their lives.

Do you have an impactful story to share?

Oh gosh, so many.  Every week had an impact on me - when the girls all finish their runs, anytime I witnessed someone cheering someone else on.  But my most impactful moment was when Missy interviewed me in the summer of 2023 and I realized the connection between when I started BIO Girls and when I started stepping out in faith more, eventually landing a job I never knew I wanted or needed as a Minister of Discipleship at House of Prayer.  Before BIO Girls, I wouldn't even make an announcement in church, but now I give sermons and am in front of the congregation weekly!

For Michelle, the strength of BIO Girls makes a lasting impact—something she sees firsthand as she witnesses her daughter, Hannah, embrace the program and its values.

“My 14yo, Hannah, has benefited greatly from the program, participating 2nd-5th grade and now will be a junior mentor for her 2nd year.  She's so supportive of me - when I missed her orchestra concert for a BIO Girls session, her response when I apologized was, "Mom, those girls need you way more than I needed you at the concert."  I was so proud of her for recognizing how important this program is for our girls.”

Michelle We are beyond grateful for your time, passion, and dedication to BIO Girls. You’ve made a lasting impact in your community through the countless girls you’ve served.

thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
