How does BIO Girls start in a new community or neighborhood?
The BIO Girls team is having conversations almost daily with people asking that question. The Answer: YOU! Each BIO Girls location is powered by volunteers – including a volunteer Site Director that makes it all happen. And it all starts with a person like you saying – “Why not me?”
The second question we get is:
What does it take to be a Site Leader?
The Answer: Our volunteer Site Directors are the boots on the ground in a community. You will work to secure a location, choose a race, secure mentor volunteers, raise the funds, promote locally, conduct the sessions, and communicate with parents.
Phew. Don’t worry – you don’t go through it alone.
BIO Girls provides you with:
A ton of tools and templates for things like fundraising, promotion, and communication.
A marketing ‘kit’ with printed collateral and some giveaways.
Technology platforms for email, online documents, Facebook, fundraising, and registration management.
Fully structured curriculum – including all printed journals for the girls, guides for mentors, and any other needed supplies to run your season. And along with that curriculum – a full set of parent-ready communication templates for your progress each week.

When should I get started?
The Answer: Now!
It’s never too early to get started, even if your start date is 6-12 months away. The more time you give yourself, the better you are set up for success.
Being a BIO Girls Site Director will give you a full heart and overflowing cup. You will still be blown away with what your BIO Girls can do and how they grow. They have so much to learn and so much to give your community and each other.
